If The Vampire Diaries ends after season 6, will Caroline, Candice Accola, join The Originals?

Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan Salvatore, and Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore, have both hinted over the past few months that season 6 could be the last season of The Vampire Diaries.

While this would mean the end of Delena, Stelena, and Steroline, shippers of Klaroline could continue, especially if Caroline, played by Candice Accola, joins The Originals!

No official word has been released as to if or when The Vampire Diaries will end. In spite of Julie Plec saying the series could continue for another 4+ years, before season 6 began it was revealed that one of the three stars was reluctant to sign on for further seasons.

Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena Gilbert, is pursuing a movie career. She played Candace in “Perks of Being a Wallflower” in 2012, Josie in “Let’s Be Cops” released August, 2014, and plays Vicki in “The Final Girls” currently in post-production and scheduled to be released in 2015.

Ian Somerhalder is an avid environmental and animal rights activist who founded the Ian Somerhalder Foundation that focuses on habitats such as biodiversity and conservation, energy such as biofuels and green technology, and animals such as no-kill shelters and cruelty prevention.

Paul Wesley has stated he wants to pursue directing. He directed TVD 5×18 “Resident Evil” and will direct TVD 6×11 “Woke Up With a Monster.”

If TVD ends after season 6, it opens up the opportunity for various cast members to either make guest appearances or become regulars on The Originals! Cast members such as Candice Accola as Caroline!

Klaroline shippers are a huge fan base and could add a compelling additional storyline to The Originals series, as well as giving it an extra boost in ratings.

Caroline‘s bubbly personality could add some lightness to the dark, brooding atmosphere around the Mikaelson compound. Klaus could use some additional friends who understand him and accept him for who he is.

Nobody can deny the chemistry Klaus and Caroline have had right from the moment they set eyes on each other. Caroline’s love-hate relationship with Klaus has been rocky, but he’s never waivered in his love for her. What Klaroline shipper can forget when he told her that Tyler may be her first love but he intends to be her last? He may have other romantic entanglements along the way, but there will always be Caroline.

So far on The Originals there’s been witchy Genevieve, and there’s also Cami. While Cami has a place in Klaus’ heart, somebody he’ll listen to and protect, that doesn’t mean he loves her the way he does Caroline. Even Julie Plec has hinted that Caroline would be a natural fit to join in the fun and havoc that’s part of the dysfunctional Mikaelson family.

Without her busy schedule on The Vampire Diaries, Candice would also have more time to spend making appearances on The Originals and getting to know Klaus’ complexities even more.

Network-wise, if The Vampire Diaries ends, would The CW blow the opportunity of adding elements that would strengthen one of their most popular shows? Probably not, fangsters!
