Alaric and Jo get married in The Vampire Diaries 6×21 “I’ll Wed You in the Golden Summertime” episode!
In The Vampire Diaries press release synopsis for 6×21 “I’ll Wed You in the Golden Summertime” Jo and Alaric get married, which is the first wedding, and pregnancy, for the series!
Although Damon and Alaric are best buds, will Damon be his best man? Doesn’t sound like it if Stefan takes his bro on a road trip. But maybe they’ll get back in time for the wedding!
Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, who plays Jo, says she’s honored to have the first wedding and be the first pregnant character on the series. She’s also honored to still be on the series! Jodi revealed that whenever she gets a new script she checks to see if Jo is still alive. It made her hopeful when the producers revealed their plans for her.
Although Jodi didn’t know if Elena would be her maid of honor, she said she would be supportive of whatever decision her friend made when it comes to the cure. It comes down to what’s more important to her, which may be a tricky decision.
Jodi thinks Jo and Alaric will make fantastic, doting parents which will be interesting being surrounded by vampires. However, it might be great to have powerful babysisters who don’t need sleep! “Night shift babysitters!” she laughed.
As for Kai attending the wedding, she’s not sure how welcome he would be, even though he seems to be a milder, more gentler Kai thanks to Luke’s influence.
