Claudia Black arrives as The Originals Dahlia in 2×18 “Night Has a Thousand Eyes” episode rerun!
The arrival of the dreaded Dahlia, played by Claudia Black, has been threatened since the beginning of The Originals season 2, and now she’ll finally be here. April 13th, 2015, is the date of her arrival, and “Night Has a Thousand Eyes” is the episode.
Claudia Black, the big bad Auntie Dahlia, is dressed in black and leans against the altar that Hayley gave birth to Hope on. Does she sense the significance of it? Does she feel Baby Hope’s power, calling to her the way Freya said? Joseph Morgan says she’s as terrifying as we’re expecting her to be.
Joseph Morgan, Klaus, on Dahlia
It’s just so exciting that they got the casting so right because I was so worried. We built up Dahlia for a long time — if someone comes in and is terrible or really isn’t frightening in any way or something, that’s the season ruined. But Claudia Black is just wonderful. First of all, she’s a veteran at sci-fi and fantasy. She knows what she’s doing, so she’s really able to handle the intensity of those speeches about curses and witches and wolves and vampires and all of that stuff, which is a whole other skill set to teach at drama school.

Joseph goes on to says that they’ll be going back and learning more about the history of Dahlia and Esther over the next few episode which “will really humanize both of them.” He also teased that there will be references to some similarities between Klaus and his dreaded Aunt Dahlia that we’ll recognize. “They’re definitely of the same blood,” Joseph teased.
