Joseph Morgan, Klaus Mikaelson, The Originals

Joseph Morgan says Klaus is a “Bad Dog” in The Originals season 2 finale 2×22 “Ashes to Ashes” episode!

In The Originals season 2 finale 2×22 “Ashes to Ashes” Joseph Morgan says, “Everyone is on the chopping block. We’ll be lucky if all the Originals make it out alive.”

As Elijah said, “Klaus will do whatever he has to do for Klaus.” Our lovable 1000-yr old hybrid “Bad Dog” has alienated everybody, with the possible exception of Cami, in his blood thirsty zeal to protect his daughter, baby Hope. Joseph, who plays the psychotic Klaus, recently tried to explain his character’s unconscionable actions.

This past season saw Klaus kill his birth father, Ansel, step-father Mikael again, and destroy his mother Esther. Freya was the one who killed her. Joseph was asked if Klaus was now ready to move on from the brooding over his unhappy childhood. He revealed that he had hoped Klaus would build a healthy relationship since he and Mikael were brief allies. Since he ended up killing Mikael again, instead of closure there are “just feelings of regret.” Because of his past, he said “we’ll have to see what new issues develop” between Klaus and daughter Hope. On Klaus’ side there is unconditional love, but Hope can’t even talk yet!

Speaking of Hope, since we’re just starting to learn about her potential power, he hopes she’ll grow up to be something like a “Carrie”-character, which he thinks would be “really interesting”!

In “Fire with Fire” Klaus totally convinced everybody of his alliance with Dahlia, including Elijah and Dahlia. Does he really have a master plan or is he really just that wicked? According to Joseph, he was “wicked in the truest sense of the word.” He did terrible, possibly unforgivable deeds, including biting Cami and cursing Hayley to her wolf-form.

Once again he has decided to become [the person] people think he is. It’s been really fun to play, because it’s a return to form for Klaus: no remorse, utter ruthlessness. Like Dahlia, he’s a monster. He enjoys the fear he causes in people.

At the end of the season 2 finale, will we fangsters find it in our hearts to forgive Klaus for his dastardly deeds? According to Joseph, it “depends on whose side you’re on and whom you care about.”
