Klaus faces Lucien, his first sire, in The Originals season 3 premiere episode 3×01 “For the Next Millenium”!
In The Originals season 3 premiere episode 3×01 “For the Next Millenium” Klaus faces Lucien, the first vampire he sired, as the war of the sire lines begins.
Lucien, played by Andrew Lees, isn’t the only sire line progeny arriving in the Big Easy when season 3 begins. He will be joined by Aurora, played by Rebecca Breeds, and Tristan, played by Oliver Ackland. In addition to The Trinity, the witch population grows with the addition of Van, played by Lawrence Kao, and the human population increases with the arrival of Detective Will Kinney, played by Jason Dohring.
According to Joseph Morgan, the relationship between Lucien and his character Klaus is complicated. The Mikaelsons learned how to create vampires when Klaus sired Lucien, “There’s definitely a bond there. We owe each other a lot.” But The Trinity isn’t the only vampires who may be coming to town.

There’s also this element that it’s not just the three of them but they’re in contact with a lot of the sire line for each of us so it’s like, “Hey, remember us? All those vampires that you turned who you’ve now abandoned? Well guess what, we’re not too happy about that and here’s why.”
According to executive producer Julie Plec, “We have a whole series of flashbacks over the first chapter that tell the story of the Originals‘ first year as vampires before the word ‘vampire’ had even been assigned to them, and them learning what they were capable of, where they could fit in, how they could adopt the manners of a rich and cultured family even though they were tattered Vikings on the run. Within those flashbacks, we see the origin story of each of The Trinity, and we understand why The Trinity themselves might have reason to be a little pissed off at our hero family.”

A WAR BREWING BETWEEN THE SIRE LINES — Months following their violent and deadly showdown with the powerful witch Dahlia, a rift continues to divide brothers Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies), while Freya (Riley Voekel) searches for a way to heal their fractured bond and return their family to the way they once were. Meanwhile, Klaus’ suspicion piques when he learns that an old vampire friend named Lucien (guest star Andrew Lees) has arrived to New Orleans with a mysterious agenda involving the Mikaelson’s remaining sire lines. Elsewhere, Elijah questions whether he can truly forgive his brother for his mounting offenses, while Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) struggles with being cursed to her wolf form in the bayou. In the French Quarter, Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) and Cami (Leah Pipes) assist Detective Kinney (guest star Jason Dohring) after a series of gruesome discoveries are made, leading them to believe they may have a serial killer on the loose. Finally, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who has regained control of the French Quarter once again, tries a new strategy to recruit vampires, while Davina (Danielle Campbell), who is now Regent to the New Orleans witches, makes a decision that will find her and Marcel on opposite sides of an escalating conflict.
