The Originals adds cast members Rebecca Breeds, Andrew Lees, Oliver Ackland, and Lawrence Kao for season 3!
The Originals adds Andrew Lees as Lucien, Rebecca Breeds as Aurora, Oliver Ackland as Tristan, and Lawrence Kao as Van when the series returns for season 3!
Rebecca Breeds, shown above, may be best known for her role as Nicole Gordon in “Pretty Little Liars,” but she’ll have some bite on The Originals as vampire Aurora, described as “capable of turning on a dime and unleashing her dark side.”
Rebecca Breeds as Aurora
Aurora is a beautiful and enigmatic vampire who is, at times, sexy, seductive, witty and free-spirited. Basically, she’s the life of any party. But she can also be malevolent, dangerous and extremely violent. In her lightest moments, she’s the flame that draws men to her like moths; in her darkest, she’ll kill those same men without a second thought.
Rebecca will begin her role as Aurora in the season 3 premiere. Other roles she has had includes Abby Russo in “We Are Men” and Ruby Buckton in “Home and Away,” which Todd Lasance, who will play Julian this season in The Vampire Diaries, was also in as Aden Jefferies.
Andrew Lees, also shown above, will play Lucien, who will also have some bite as a vampire, is part of Klaus’ sire line, coming to New Orleans with a secret agenda, probably to get some type of revenge on Klaus. He’ll be joining a long line behind Elijah, Hayley, Davina, and the Crescent wolves!
Andrew Lees as Lucien
Lucien is intelligent, charming, wildly successful, and at ease with princes and paupers alike. He prides himself on being two steps ahead of everyone else.
He may not be two steps ahead of Klaus. Other roles Andrew has had includes Blake in “Your Family or Mine,” Pvt. Robert Oswalt in “The Pacific,” and Wes in “Dance Academy.” Like Rebecca, Andrew’s character of Lucien will hit the road running with fangs extended in the season 3 premiere.
Oliver Ackland, above on the left, will play Tristan, who is also a vampire with a complicated history involving the Mikaelson family. His character’s description fits the name.
Oliver Ackland as Tristan
Tristan is both charming and worldly, a man born into such wealth and power that he carries with him the cool assurance of his own superiority. With those he loves, he can be equal parts warm and caring, obsessive and co-dependent. But with his enemies, he is cruel and completely merciless.
Perhaps Tristan is also part of Klaus’ sire line, or maybe Elijah’s or Rebekah’s! Like Rebecca and Todd, Oliver has also been on “Home and Away,” playing Steven Ross. Other roles include Vince Frasca in “Outriders,” Toby Raven in “Cloudstreet,” and Tom Worland in “Party Tricks.” Oliver will begin his role of Tristan in episode 2.
Lawrence Kao, above on the right, has been cast as Van, who is not a vampire but a warlock, who sounds like a reluctant witch who wants to stay out of the fray.
Lawrence Kao as Van
Van is a handsome, stubborn witch who has always stayed out of coven politics. But when tragedy strikes, he finds himself inescapably drawn into the beginnings of a war.
As a warlock, he’ll probably have a lot of scenes with Vincent, played by Yusuf Gatewood, and Davina, played by Danielle Campbell. One of Lawrence’s role was as Tim in “The Walking Dead,” which is one of Joseph Morgan’s favorite shows. Other roles he’s had includes Ty Amano in “Hawaii Five-O” and John Stikler in “NCIS: Los Angeles.” Like Oliver’s character of Tristan, Lawrence’s character of Van begins in episode 2.
