Kol takes drastic measures to get revenge in The Originals: The Awakening Part 3!

Part 3 of The Originals: The Awakening begins at the entrance to Lafayette Cemetery, then Mary-Alice explains that she and Astrid have been working on a spell to turn the silver dagger to gold. Kol plans to use it to stop Klaus’ heart.

Mary-Alice and Astrid have been working for weeks and going half mad in the process, but still haven’t been successful.

As lights burst and things topple over, Kol arrives and drapes his overcoat over Astrid’s arm. “You’ve been working on this for weeks,” he says, obviously irritated at their lack of progress.

Mary-Alice explans they need a bigger diamond. According to gossip Genevieve, they heard dowager Folly keeps a massive diamond hidden in her mansion. Seems she never leaves her abode for fear that somebody will steal it. Astrid reveals the dowager only leaves once a week to go to Sunday Mass. As long as the dowager lives, Kol can’t enter her mansion to get the diamond.

Kol goes to the church and proceeds to slaughter everybody there with the star that makes a thousand cuts, the same star that killed Monique before she could sacrifice baby Hope in the season 1 finale “From a Cradle to a Grave.”

As a bloody-faced Kol sits on the altar cleaning the dagger he used, Mary-Alice explains they didn’t know that he would end up slaughtering half the parish.

As she and Astrid joins him in the church, Astrid tells him, “You’re a monster!”

Kol explains that he had to kill everybody because he didn’t know what the dowager looked like.

“You knew she didn’t look like the altar boy,” Astrid says. She also didn’t look like a man, a child, or the priest currently dying in his confessional.

“I was parched” Kol explains, then says he’s off to an insufferable family dinner and will see them later that night.

“We’re not helping you,” Astrid protests.

Mary-Alice puts a hand on her arm to calm her. “We’ve come this far, Astrid.”

As if in defiance of Astrid’s reluctance to continue, and with a smirk on his face, Kol kisses Mary-Alice, leaving blood from his bloody face on her lips. As he leaves, she touches her lips with her gloved fingertips.

Is the “gossip Genevieve” the same Genevieve played by Elyse Levesque who Rebekah worked beside in the hospital and who did the locator spell to find Papa Mikael? Is the church where dowager Folly attends Sunday Mass the same St. Anne’s where Father Kieran, played by Todd Stashwick, was?

Part 4 of The Originals: The Awakening ends the web series and ties in with the mid-season series finale of “The Map of Moments” on December 8th, 2014, on The CW!
