Kol reveals the dagger to kill Klaus in The Originals: The Awakening Part 2!

In part 1 of The Originals: The Awakening we learned that Kol aligned with Mary-Alice Claire and her witches to take down Klaus and his witches. In part 2 we’re learning that Mary-Alice, played by Keri Lynn Pratt, and Astrid, played by Aleeah Rogers, are practicing magic by creating lethal weapons, but the most lethal one will be the dagger Kol intends to use on Klaus.

Kol taught his witches, Mary-Alice and Astrid, chimera magic that he learned on the shores of the Red Sea. It was the intersection between science and spirit. With the right chemistry you could realize your wildest dreams.

A perfect paragon diamond was used to focus their power. With it they made a bracelet to force obedience (the one Davina used with Mikael), a rosary to drive men mad, shackles to halt a witch’s power, and a blade that can make a thousand cuts. We saw that blade in the season 1 finale “From a Cradle to a Grave.”

Astrid is upset since every weapon they make is more disturbing than the last. She thinks they have enough to use on Klaus and his witches. Kol reprimands her for being so forceful.

Kol explains that they don’t have to use all the weapons, just enough of them to show Klaus and his witches they’re not as powerful as they think they are. To scare them into standing down. More importantly, to scare Klaus the way he scared Kol for centuries.

All Kol’s immortal life Klaus has controlled him, stolen decades of his life, by using the threat of a dagger to the heart.

He explains that all the weapons they’ve been making has just been practice to hone their skills for his ultimate weapon. He opens a box revealing the dagger he’s been preparing them to infuse with their deadly magic.

Kol fondles the dagger which will work on Klaus, and only Klaus.

This began Mary-Alice and Astrid’s quest to create a weapon laced with so much power that it would plunge the infallible Klaus into a magical slumber. Mary-Alice trusted Kol, in spite of his reputation of being a mad cap trickster. She reveals, “I would pay dearly for that.”

When you’ve watched tonight’s episode of The Originals and part 2 of The Awakening, you’ll recognize the dagger Kaleb/Kol is so fondly holding, to use in the hopes of getting his ultimate revenge on the brother who had been daggering him his entire life.
