Were Kol, Vincent, and Kinney successful in taking back their city in The Originals 3×21 “Give ‘Em Hell Kid”?

The Originals 3×21 “Give ‘Em Hell Kid” begins with Cami’s funeral as well as Davina’s. It’s a sad day in New Orleans. Vincent gives a speech at Davina’s funeral. Josh is there to say his goodbye. Kol was too emotional to speak. Marcel wrote a speech, but he makes a promise to Davina that the Mikaelson’s will pay for this.

In the bar where Cami worked, Hayley is trying to keep the Whiskey flowing. Elijah and her have a moment and he tells her what a good job she’s doing with everything. Klaus is there and he’s just standing over Cami’s casket.

Detective Kinney shows up and asks if he knew him. Kinney asks about Cami and tells Klaus she was a very special girl. Klaus is rude at first then catches himself. He starts being a little nicer. Marcel shows up to pay his respects and he walks right past Klaus. Elijah tells Klaus to just give him time. But Klaus knows Marcel’s anger.

Freya is working on a spell when Kol shows up. Kol kind of scolds her for everything. Freya explains that she’s working to see if the prophecy is true or not. Kol is leaving. Freya tries to talk him into staying. Kol makes it clear he didn’t ever want Freya.

At a bar Vincent and Kinney are talking and having a drink. Kinney asks about Cami. Vincent gives Kinney the short version, but Kinney knows better. Kinney isn’t going to give up until he finds out the truth about Cami’s death.

Josh is getting drunk at Marcel’s house. Marcel tells Josh about the serum. Josh doesn’t think it’s a good plan. Josh tries to talk some sense into Marcel. Marcel puts the serum down for now.

Freya is still working on the prophecy and Eljiah enters to give her more strength. They see Marcel, he kills the Mikealson’s. Freya and Elijah move quickly. They know they’re in trouble now.

Marcel is at his home when Klaus stops by. Klaus tries to apologize for Marcel’s pain. Klaus tries to explain Freya’s reasoning. Marcel makes it clear that he isn’t so forgiving this time around. Marcel wants to know what Klaus thinks of him. Klaus tells him of course they’re family. Marcel tells Klaus that he is nothing to him now, Klaus begs for Marcel to give him another chance. He asks Marcel to come with him and he does, but he pockets the serum first.

Freya is at home, trying to find any serum in Aurora’s body. There is none though. She wants to warn Klaus and Elijah agrees. Meanwhile, Kol is busy packing up. A music box starts suddenly playing, Davina is there. She cuts his throat then everything turns back to normal.

Vincent has a home that looks pretty bad. Vincent tells Kinney about magic. Vincent tells Kinney it’s okay for mortals to be afraid. Vincent has a mystical battery that will hopefully steal the ancestors magic. Vincent wants Kinney to help him steal the Ancestors magic.

Klaus takes Marcel to a bridge, the bridge is where Marcel spread his father’s ashes. Klaus tries to remind Marcel of their time together. Klaus also explains his connection with Marcel and how much he admires him. He calls Marcel his son but Marcel isn’t buying it.

A MAN ON A MISSION – After receiving new visions of the looming prophecy, Freya (Riley Voelkel) uncovers that her family is on a collision course with a dangerous new enemy. Meanwhile, with the help of Detective Kinney (guest star Jason Dohring), Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) and Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) travel to the ancestral world to put a stop to the witches and take back their city once and for all. Elsewhere, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) confront Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) after a heartbreaking plan gone wrong has sent him spiraling. Phoebe Tonkin and Danielle Campbell also star.

Marcel tells Klaus that he’s tired of talking. Klaus is trying to stay calm and tells Marcel how alike they are. Marcel listens as Klaus is honest about his fears. He tells him he hasn’t done enough for Marcel. Klaus tells Marcel that no matter what they will always be family. Elijah shows up and kind of ruins the moment.

Kinney gets a swat team together to wipe out some witches in the Quarter. Vincent comes in and gets the items that he needs. Vincent quickly gets to work. Vincent is going to go to the Magical holy grail and is going to steal the Ancestor’s Magic. Vincent needs Kinney to empty the town.

Marcel is angry that Elijah shows up ruining their moment. Elijah quickly gets to the point. Klaus is shocked about the serum. Kol shows up where Vincent is and wants to help. He needs to see Davina again. Vincent is reluctant but agrees.

On the bridge, Marcel explains why he’s thinking of taking the serum. Marcel tries to explain how wrong the Mikaelson’s always do things. They keep pushing Marcel and he keeps getting angrier and angrier. The Ancestors push Marcel to take it, but he hasn’t yet.

In the crypts, Vincent and Kol are working to go to the Ancestors. Josh is also there and Vincent does the spell. They wake up in the after world while Josh keeps them grounded on the other side.

Meanwhile on the bridge, Elijah and Klaus are making things worse. Marcel again tries to make the Mikaelson’s see why they’re wrong. Why they need to change. Elijah warns Marcel but Marcel has already made his decision. Marcel keeps making it clear that he will never let them live in peace and Elijah sneaks up and rips out Marcel’s heart. Marcel then falls into the river.

Vincent and Kol find Davina. She’s in a lot of pain. Klaus is upset with Elijah. Elijah explains his actions. Klaus however doesn’t think that Eljiah did the right thing.

With Vincent, Davina tells Vincent to go. She’s going to take care of the Ancestors. She sends Vincent back alone. Elijah goes home to Hayely. He falls to his knees, he apologizes. He tells her about Marcel. Hayley is shocked but goes to comfort Elijah.

Kol gets to say goodbye to Davina. She tells him what to say to Josh and Marcel. She doesn’t want to say goodbye to him, but Kol steps up. He thanks her, in tears, for her saving him…in more ways than one. They hug and he tells her he loves her. They kiss and she tells him she loves him too. She then sends him back.

Kol wakes up, still crying. Davina works to stop the Ancestors. It works and the crypts starts bursting into flames.

Hayley goes to talk to Klaus. He wants to be alone and she tries to talk some sense into Klaus. He’s angry now. She tells him about the prophecy and tells him he needs to forgive Elijah. Klaus tells her she sounds like Cami right then. He then walks away.

Klaus followed Cami’s wishes with her tombstone. Vincent, Kol, Josh, and Kinney are glad things worked out. Kinney thanks Vincent for trusting him.

Hayley goes to Elijah in the family room. She tells him he needs to forgive himself, but he stand staring at the fire…crying. He walks away from her then pauses and goes back to her. They start making out.

Klaus starts reading from a Hamlet book at Marcel’s place. Klaus tells them about Marcel’s death. Josh is upset, he feels guilty. Marcel took the serum, he wanted to fool the Mikaelson’s.

The next episode of The Originals will be 3×22 season 3 finale “The Bloody Crown” on Friday, May 20th, 2016, at 9/8c, on The CW!
