Like “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” this is an alternate history novel featuring vampire Henry Sturges, who was played by Dominic Cooper in the movie, also written by Seth.

It begins with vampire Henry Sturges in Reconstruction-era America after Abraham Lincoln’s death. He’s searching for a new purpose in his life which sends him on a journey to England, where he unexpectedly encounters Jack the Ripper. Returning to New York City at the turn of the 20th century when it entered the electric era of Edison and Tesla, he’s a witness to the 1937 Hindenburg’s disaster and blazing crash.

As Seth sends Henry on a Kerouac-influenced trip, he weaves a history of vampires as his hero journeys through Russia’s October Revolution, the two World Wars, and JFK’s assassination.
