When Forever was cancelled by ABC, fans of the show decided to take to the Internet to try and do something about it. If you love Forever, too, please sign the petition!

After the Forever finale, when Henry told Jo his story was a “long story,” creator Matt Miller met with the network for a formal proposal for a season 2, to try and get them as excited as he and the cast were about continuing Henry’s immortal journey.

Matt Miller on his network meeting

We went and pitched our Season 2, what that would be, to ABC. It went great, and they were really pleased. They’ve been very supportive of the creative of the show all season long. I think it’s going to come down to their pilots, and their schedule, and everything else.

Unfortunately ABC decided to cancel, deciding to go with one of it’s new shows. Next season they’re putting “Quantico” in Forever’s Tuesday night at 10/9c time slot. In this time slot CBS will air “Limitless” and NBC will air “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris.”

“Quantico” series synopsis

The series follows a group of young FBI recruits, all with specific reasons for joining as flashbacks will detail their previous lives, battling their way through training at the Quantico base in Virginia. However, the series will reveal in a flash forward twist that one of the recruits, once they graduate from the academy, will be suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.

NBC’s “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris” is a variety series.

“Limitless” series synopsis

Follows Brian Sinclair (Jake McDorman) as he discovers the power of the mysterious drug NZT, and is coerced into using his newfound drug-enhanced abilities to solve weekly cases for the FBI. Bradley Cooper as Eddie Mora, the original main character from the film, will be a recurring role.

When the series ended Adam, the other immortal, was catatonic, but still aware Henry was there. According to Matt Miller, “It felt like putting him in some kind of a medically induced coma was Henry’s best version of revenge.”

He wanted to keep Adam around because he felt there was more “story to tell” there. He also planned on bringing in new characters, more mythology, and definitely more romance! He also had a plan about how many people would find out about Henry’s immortality.

When the cancellation was announced Ioan expressed his surprise, since the studio and network “both loved the show.” Then he took to Instagram to thank the fans.

Ioan’s Instragram Message to Fans

My dear friends, fans, supporters.

Tonight, as you all now know, I received a phone call that I was hoping not to receive, and to be honest I really wasn’t expecting it. I knew the numbers hadn’t been great, but I also knew the studio and the network both loved the show, and of course that it had an incredible fan base … so I thought we were in with a pretty good chance.

But sadly no, this time the cards weren’t dealt in our favor. Show business is like that. Hell, life is like that. You ride to the top of the wave and then you come crashing down again. I asked Alice to send out the sad news because I was a little bit shaken up and needed time to gather my thoughts.

So I sat down and started reading the thousands of Tweets in response to the announcement. And the more I read, the more I couldn’t believe it. The love, the sense of solidarity, the hope, the kindness, the support. Not just for the show, but for each other. And slowly I began to focus on what we had gained in the past year, rather than what we had lost in the last five minutes. I was overcome by a sense of gratitude. To have met you all and to have you all rooting for me and the show. At having a chance to play the role of my dreams, even if it was only for a year. To have been given the chance to bring Henry to life.

Watching the interaction of the FOREVER fans come together and share their love for the show has been breath-taking. It was you guys who held me up when I thought I could no longer go on. (Those days were LONG!) You made me smile when you pointed out the little things I did on screen that I thought had gone unnoticed. You gave me confidence when I accidentally found myself reading less than shining reviews. You were always with me, every step of the way, waving your flags, shouting your support for the show. It’s been an incredible, wonderful year, one that I will never, ever forget.
And guess what? The memories belong to us. We get to keep them “forever!” Thanks again a million times for your unwavering support. Stay strong, be brave, and show kindness as often as you can!

Can the fans encourage ABC to change their mind or persuade another network or group, such as Netflix, Hulu, or TNT, to pick it up? They’ve taken to social media to try for that second season, including having Twitter parties. For information on everything you can follow Deb Servey’s twitter or join Facebook’s “Forever Fan Page.” You can also follow creator Matt Miller’s Twitter for updates. Forever already has a huge American and International fan base, so any network would be smart to pick it up.

Now’s the time to get involved in the Forever campaign and make your voice heard. You can start by signing the petition, then tweet and join the Facebook page. You can also show your love to all the actors by tweeting your support.

When tweeting to share the petition make sure to include the hashtag #SaveForever and include @Netflix @Hulu and @TNT to make sure they know how much we all love Forever!
