Todd Stashwick, Father Kieran, The Originals

Happy 46th Birthday to Todd Stashwick, who played Father Kieran on The Originals!

A special Happy Happy Birthday to Todd, the amazing actor who gave life and an magnificent death to Father Kieran in season 1 of The Originals!

Todd was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in one of it’s suburbs. As a child he always tried to make people laugh. Perhaps this is why he’s so great at drama, making you laugh one minute and cry the next.

After graduating from Illinois State University he began honing his skills with local improvisational theaters, then toured all over the country as part of “The Second City” troop whose alumni include Joan Rivers, John and James Belushi, Colin Ferguson (who is currently on The Vampire Diaries), Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jason Sudeikis, Mike Meyers, and too many others to name.

After moving to New York, he auditioned for Saturday Night Live. When he didn’t get it, he started his own improvisation company called “Burn Manhattan” under the direction of Shira Piven, Jeremy Piven’s sister.

Even though he is busy with his film and TV career, he keeps his hand in improvisation with “The Hothouse,” a school and theater teaching his own style of organic improvisation in North Hollywood.

But Todd does more than just act, he also writes a web comic named “The Devil Inside” with artist Dennis Calero. Definitely check it out if you’re a comic lover like Joseph Morgan! They also have printed copies you can purchase. Todd and Dennis also have a series in development for Syfy called “Clandestine”!

In addition to The Originals as Father Kieran, he has also be on “Revolution,” “Warehouse 13,” “The Riches,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Justified,” “Supernatural,” “Criminal Minds,” and “Teen Wolf.” He’ll also be on the uncoming 1×08 episode of the new “Gotham” series as Richard Sionis. Since “Gotham” is on opposite The Originals on Monday nights, you may want to watch the episode Todd is online or DVR it! He will also be seen as O’Dowd in the upcoming movie “Jane Got a Gun” starring Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman scheduled to be released in early 2015!

One of his most iconic roles has been that of Dracula in the 4×05 “Supernatural” episode “Monster Movie”! It’s always one of the favorite episodes fans ask to see!
