Nathan Parsons, Jackson Kenner, The Originals

A very happy 27th Happy Birthday to Nathan Parsons who plays Jackson on The Originals!

Wish a fangtastic happy 27th Happy Birthday to handsome Nathan Parsons, who plays werewolf Jackson Kenner, the alpha of the Crescent wolves, in The Originals!

Nathan Dean Parsons was born June 16th, 1988, in Adelaide, Australia, but was raised in Colorado and Texas. He moved to Los Angeles to go to the University of Southern California to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting. Although he hasn’t shown his dancing skills on The Originals, he’s a member of the Boom Kat Dance Theatre, a Santa Monica, California, based non-profit dance company, which is part of the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica. Nishi Munshi has a dance studio, so they probably had a lot to talk about, and maybe even shared a few dance moves between scenes!

In addition to enjoying dance, Nathan also enjoys hiking, rock climbing, football, lacrosses, soccer, scuba diving, and yoga. Sebastian Roche, Papa Mikael Mikaelson on the show, also enjoys rock climbing.

When he was a child, he did voice-overs, dubbing Japanese anime for ADV Films. This included Jean Roque-Raltique in “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water,” “Devil Lady,” “Soul Hunter,” and “Jing: King of Bandits.”

Nathan is an experienced fang wearing, since he replaced Luke Grimes in the role of James on HBO’s True Blood before being cast as Jackson in The Originals in 2014. But he is also best known for his role in the ABC soap opera General Hospital in the role of con artist Ethan Lovett from 2009 to 2012. The 2009 March “Soaps in Depth” magazine said he was “taking the show by storm” and dubbed his character “one of daytime’s most riveting young characters.”

In May, 2012, Nathan was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor, but didn’t win. Although his last airdate on the soap was March 7th, 2012, he returned in April, 2013, for the show’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. The storyline for his character has been left open, just in case he wants to return.

In July, 2012, he joined the cast of the ABC Family series Bunheads in the role of Godot. Although his character was idolized, he appeared in only a few episodes and the series was cancelled after one season. Other roles he’s appeared in include Soda Spritzer in the 2007 movie “Teeth,” Holden Williams in the 2009 movie “The Brotherhood V: Alumni,” and John Rhodes in the TV Movie “Point of Honor” which also stars Riley Voelkel who plays Freya Mikaelson in The Originals.
