Alex, Noma, and Michael go to Vega as William says he’s The Chosen One in Dominion 2×08 “The Longest Mile Home”!

In Dominion 2×08 “The Longest Mile Home” episode William returns claiming to be The Chosen One as Alex, Noma, and Michael go to Vega to try and save it.

In 2×07 “Lay Thee Before Kings” Claire decides to try and broker a peace deal with Zoe, but it backfires when David decides to have a sniper kill her. The sniper is killed, but Claire is shot in the leg hitting an artery. Although she survives, thanks to Gates seeing the sniper, she loses the baby. After the failed peace attempt, Gates tells Arika, “We gave peace a chance. Now it’s time to try something else.”

Back in Zoe’s camp, she IDs the person who sent the sniper and her soldiers beat him to death. Since she knows David was behind it, will he be her next victim? Maybe she’ll take Claire’s advice and put a bullet through his head instead of his other hand.

Alex and Noma are on the run and end up in a store named Finns, similar to Walmart, in order to get some supplies. The man in the hat appears to Noma and asks her if Alex is really The Chosen One, then tells her to take Alex and head East. Then he shoots fire from his hand and fries an 8-ball. Is this the prophet?

The store is filled with 8-balls who go through the motions they did as humans. The cashier moves an object across a beam and says “Beep.” An 8-ball with a broom says, “Clean up on aisle 3.” An 8-ball greeter greets them and tells them everything is on sale and prices are plummeting. When they go to check out, the checker asks if they want paper or plastic. When Alex says, “Plastic,” all the 8-balls descend on them. They manage to escape, and Alex sews up Noma’s wounds left from her missing wings. Then more 8-balls arrive, including one with a buzz saw which he uses to try and break through a door to get to them.

In New Delphi, Julian tells Edward not to die yet, and asks him what his weakness is. Edward tells him, “Dying men don’t have weakness. They got nothing to lose.” Julian tells him he doesn’t want the amphora to destroy Vega, and they talk about Clementine. Later, Julian brings a beautiful 8-ball, and explains to Edward that it’s Clementine. Lower angels aren’t destroyed when they die, but just live in the outer sphere, where they can be brought back to inhabit a human. Clementine touches Edward’s cheek and tells him that she’s missed him. But Julian may have missed the fact that this new 8-ball isn’t in his dead wife’s body. Clementine is the angel that possessed her and took her name.

Julian has Michael and Gabriel chained to an electricfied pole. Since Michael looks like he’s sleeping, Gabriel tells him, “Now is not the best time for sleep.”

When Julian comes, Gabriel tells him he should just go ahead and kill them, but Julian says, “I don’t want to kill you. I want to break you. Then I’ll take one of your bodies and make it my own. Have fun!” Then he leaves after explaining they must take turns grabbing the electrified pole to keep arcing bare wires from descending from above their heads to kill them. Gabriel asks Michael if it’s even possible for Julian, a lower angel, to take possession of an archangel’s body. But Michael has other things he’s thinking about, like how to escape.

As they take turns grabbing the pole, they flash back to when Gabriel had a life as a human man and fathered the child named David, who killed Goliath and was destined to be the King of Israel. As they walk through a field, Gabriel tells him to take a stone and kill a rabbit. David is upset when he misses, but Gabriel tells him, “Losing is part of winning. Every time you fail, you’re better for it.”

After David kills Goliath, King Saul of Jerusalem is jealous and throws him from the top of the palace and puts another child in his place. Michael explains to Gabriel that he was too late to save his son. This other child grows up to be King David and fathers eight children. After Michael and Gabriel bury the real David, Gabriel flies off, broken hearted. Years later, Gabriel visits the grownup imposter King David who stole his son David’s destiny, throws him out of a window, and kills his eight children, avenging the death of his son David.

Back at the electric pole, Gabriel tells Michael that he doesn’t believe in Alex, but he knows Michael does, so he wants him to go and save him. With that, he kicks Michael away from the pole, causing a bare electrical cord to descend as the electricity arcs toward him. He tells Michael, “Protect him and bring our Father back. There’s no point without him.” Then he grabs the bare electric wires and takes the full force of the electricity. Michael breaks free and tries to rescue him, but when they get to the door, Gabriel pushes Michael through, closes and locks it, and tells him, “I can’t leave anyway. I still have to kill Julian.” Then he passes out on the floor.

Will Noma ever get her wings back? Who is the man in the hat that shot fire from his hand and fried the 8-ball? Is he the prophet? Will David get revenge on Zoe for her shooting his hand? What is Arika’s agenda? Still waiting for the name of the prophet who built the eternal flame, and why the rain stopped and started again. Who was responsible for these two events? Will we see Mallory again before the season ends? How did William return and what is his agenda?
