Alex and Noma are on the run leaving Michael and Gabriel with Julian in Dominion 2×07 “Lay Thee Before Kings”!

In Dominion 2×07 “Lay Thee Before Kings” episode after a failed eviction on Julian, Alex and Noma are running while Michael and Gabriel are in Julian’s hands.

In “Reap the Whirlwind” Vega is divided, thanks to David and Jasper setting off bombs in the tunnels. As the saying goes, “A house divided against itself cannot stand,” so what will happen to Vega? Many V1s were caught in the blast, and David tells Zoe this is her chance to speak to the people of Vega, which she does.

Claire appears devastated by the flames and Zoe’s speech. Gates decides to go into the tunnels and redirect the speakers so Claire can address Vega. Arika, playing both sides, sends an emissary to David to tell him what Gates is planning on doing. She tells him to make sure Gates isn’t killed. Gates, under fire from Zoe’s men is defended by Claire’s men. He survives the gunfire and sets up the connection so Claire can address Vega and cut off Zoe’s speech. “He who has great power should use it wisely,” says Gates.

Zoe feels David doesn’t really want to help her, but intends to set himself up as King and will put a bullet through her head the first chance he gets. To prevent him, she shoots the palm of his right hand, feeling this will prevent him from shooting a gun. Now she’s free to put a bullet in his head whenever she feels like it. Of course, he could always shoot a gun with his left hand!

After Gates comes to Claire in her rooms, she’s livid that he put himself in danger, calling him stupid. Then she grabs him close and kisses him. He kisses back. Different fires burn as they grasp each other, pulling their clothes off and lying down on the couch to continue. This was building up in the last couple of episodes. First with that kiss after they escaped the angel sent by Gabriel to kill her, and then in the breakfast scene where Claire snatched some berries off of Gates’ waffle, sharing a lovingly secret smile with him. Arika was privy to the food snatch, so Gates has probably become part of whatever her agenda is.

In New Delphi, things are also heating up. Alex finds a wounded Michael cowerng in a corner. After plucking a wing feather and setting it on fire, he rubs the ashes into his wounds and heals them. He tells Alex, “I would die for you. I would then. I would now. Nothing’s changed.” They realize Julian is planning on attacking Vega to get more humans to make into 8-balls. Alex tells him he’s going to do an eviction on Julian. Michael tells him he’s not strong enough to do it on a dyad, but he’s going to try it anyway. They decide on a place to meet to get out of New Delphi.

Alex sits casually with Edward Riesen and Julian, just talking, then Alex starts the eviction under his breath. Julian reels back off his chair as Alex speaks the eviction louder. Lyrae inside of Julian begins to emerge, but then is sucked back into Julian’s mouth. The eviction failed. After shoving Edward aside, apparently causing him to have a heart attack, Julian grabs Alex by the neck and explains, “A human has to want to be free, and we’re very comfortable in here.”

Julian, with Pete’s help, shackles Alex in the same room he has Gabriel chained. Julian wants the amphora. Noma is taken prisoner, too. Julian intends to burn off the tattoos on Alex’s body until Noma reveals where the amphora is hidden. Gabriel protests, telling him the words on Alex is the only way to bring Father back. Julian doesn’t care, telling him, “God’s gone. What use is morality when there’s no piper to be paid!”

Julian burns off a tattoo on Alex’s shoulder, then pins Noma’s spread wings to the wall so she’s suspended from them. When Julian tries to burn a tattoo off his arm, the energy in the tattoo pushes him away and knocks him out. Noma pushes against the wall until she breaks free of her wings, pulling them right out of her shoulders, then collapsing on the floor as her back bleeds and blood drips down the wall from her wings still nailed to the wall. She crawls to Alex and sets him free. Gabriel tells them both to run and save Michael.

Alex and Noma run to Michael, who gives the bad news that he can’t help Noma get her wings back. Julian’s 8-ball army is close to finding them. Alex shows Michael the tattoo that repelled Julian. Michael explains it contains the constellation Lyra (i.e., Lyrae) and the constellation Vega. Alex says, “Julian is going to attack Vega. The markings were there all along. I should have listened.” (But he already told Michael that he knew Julian was going to attack Vega!) Michael tells them to climb up a shaft to escape the compound. Alex tells him, “This isn’t the end. Our fates are tied!”

As Alex and Noma run, she says she feels strange and says she’s dying. Then she sees a man with a hat and long coat in the distance, although Alex doesn’t see him. Is it the Father? Will he give her back her wings? They see a house in the distance where they may be safe and head for it. Inside, Alex tends to the wounds where her wings used to be.

Michael was captured again and Julian throws his unconscious body on the floor in front of Gabriel. “Get your rest,” Julian says. “You’re going to need it.”

Can Noma get her wings back? Who is the shadowy man in the hat that Noma saw? Will David get revenge on Zoe for her shooting his hand? What is Arika’s agenda? Still waiting for the name of the prophet who built the eternal flame, and why the rain stopped and started again. Who was responsible for these two events? Who is the prophet? Is it Father? Is it the shadowy man in the hat? Will we see Mallory again before the season ends?
