Bloodbath in the bayou – Anatomy of The Originals scene!

On The Originals episode of “An Unblinking Death” there is a bloody bloodbath in the bayou as werewolf Oliver, played by Chase Coleman, makes a move for alpha male to replace Jackson by arranging for their encampment to be bombed.

The scene that was filmed was a stunt person’s dream, as revealed in a TV Guide Magazine article in the April 21-May 4 issue.

Joseph Morgan, Klaus Mikaelson“An Unblinking Death” is a game-changer in many ways, but behind the scenes the bayou bloodbath was a challenge with it’s fight scenes, fireballs, and death-defying leaps for the stunt crew.

This was a very challenging special-effects episode.

The dramatic episode involves Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, traveling to the Louisiana bayou to check on Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, who is very pregnant with Klaus’ baby. Somebody arranges to bomb the encampment to destroy the peace treaty that Elijah arranged between the New Orleans’ witches, werewolves, vampires, and humans. As we learned, it was Oliver who orchestrated the bombing, and is no doubt making a play to become alpha male in place of Jackson.

Who ordered the attack and why is unknown, but they clearly wanted ultimate damage.

According to Matthew Hastings, this terrorist act drove the plot through the end of the season originally aired on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014.
